obsessed....

....does not even begin to describe my love for this bag.
I may have worn it on my arm for entirely too long before placing her back on the shelf and realizing...
 it just wasn't gonna happen.

the kate spade gold coast meadow is available in several colors,
but the cream needs to come home with me.
immediately.

the christmas list begins?

The Perfect Jeans

I haven't bought a pair of jeans in probably about 2 years.
it's been way too long.
Finding a great pair is like finding a great man...
or atleast as difficult as a gorgeous pair of heels
that are actually comfortable.
it's tough.
Plus, trying on jeans is horrible.  I think it may be worse than bathing suits.

But, I finally found an amazing pair that I love.

The perfect amount of stretch, slimming color, hit your hips at the perfect spot to be flattering and also kind of suck you in.  Plus, they are so comfortable I could wear them all day, everyday.
Which is pretty much what I have been doing lately.

DKNY top (old) // steve madden booties (old, similar)

what jeans do you swear by?
and how often do you think you should by jeans?
something tells me 2 years was way too long to wait....

Weekend Recap

it was a gorgeous fall weekend,
filled with chilly walks, lots of football, and relaxation
and quite a bit of catching up on Season 1 of Homeland
that show's like crack I tell you

 we did some fall decorating

lots of walks with the pup, who is definitely not a city dog.
she didn't go to the bathroom for almost 48 hours and was terrified of everything from cars to the sound of the fridge closing.  poor girl is probably happy to be back in the suburbs at home today.

warm cookies and milk at a new restaurant with friends
with the cutest presentation

finally picked out a new perfume and I love it
although the bottle is annoyingly gigantic.
the top is as big as my hand.

I made an essential fall leather purchase and can't wait for it to arrive
this urban outfitters skirt looks too cute + the price is incredible

oh, and I also found some great motivation
to get my butt to the gym on the weekend

{late} Friday Randoms

My friend sent me a WWHL Gif's website.
YES. YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY.
try to continue breathing.
it is an incredible, incredible day.
praise the Lord.... and Andy Cohen.

We are babysitting this kid for the weekend.
First time in the city.... she's freaking out a little bit
but I'm sure we will have lots of fun.

Whyyyy did Jessica wear a pink wedding gown?
Why
as julia would say, big mistake..... huge. huge.

I guess we can take Taylor off the pedophile list list of weirdo 22 year olds who date 18 year old boys.
another Taylor break-up?!?!? What?!?!
seriously stop dating people already.
and I'm guessing it's not the boys that are the problem.... it's you.

now, ladies,
when you go out to paint the town tonight
please do not wearing anything resembling this ensemble.
everyone at the bar thanks you.

Happy Weekend!

xoxo

Homemade Punkin' Pie

I made two homemade pumpkin pies this weekend to finally start feeling fall-y
(minus the crust... obviously.
not even Ina has that kind of time).

I used Paula Deen's recipe and they are absolutely delicious.
Topped with homemade quipped cream, it's the perfect fall treat!
anything with a brick of cream cheese is obviously amazing

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

2 cups canned pumpkin, mashed

1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg plus 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, optional
1 piece pre-made pie dough
Whipped cream, for topping

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Place 1 piece of pre-made pie dough down into a (9-inch) pie pan and press down along the bottom and all sides. Pinch and crimp the edges together to make a pretty pattern. Put the pie shell back into the freezer for 1 hour to firm up. Fit a piece of aluminum foil to cover the inside of the shell completely. Fill the shell up to the edges with pie weights or dried beans (about 2 pounds) and place it in the oven. Bake for 10 minutes, remove the foil and pie weights and bake for another 10 minutes or until the crust is dried out and beginning to color.
For the filling, in a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer. Add the pumpkin and beat until combined. Add the sugar and salt, and beat until combined. Add the eggs mixed with the yolks, half-and-half, and melted butter, and beat until combined. Finally, add the vanilla, cinnamon, and ginger, if using, and beat until incorporated.
Pour the filling into the warm prepared pie crust and bake for 50 minutes, or until the center is set. Place the pie on a wire rack and cool to room temperature. Cut into slices and top each piece with a generous amount of whipped cream.

Slather that bad boy with whipped cream and dig in!
xoxo

it was beautiful and so much fun.
I borrowed a friend's dress I have been obsessed with for over a year to wear.
obsessed is an understatement. and it has pockets people.

It's Friday. Amen.

Friday Randoms:
weekend's call for cupcakes

thank heavens the weekend has arrived!
I cannot wait to sleep, eat, and drink some pinot grigio.
We have another wedding this weekend, and the rest will probably be spent in many layers because it's officially freezing again.

I am so so so happy Dimitri won Project Runway.

I loved him + his clothes all season.  His dresses were killer.
the eyebrows on the models I can do without
I agree with Michael Kors, he is a true gentleman.
sweet as pie.  he even makes tim gunn cry.

When my alarm goes off on Monday mornings,
I normally feel like I have been punched in the face.
This Monday, I actually was.
I went to kiss my man friend goodbye on the cheek while he was asleep as I sprinted out the door at 6 am, and he must have been having a nightmare or something, because I scared him and I got jacked in the side of the head.
With his iPhone.
I'm still laughing about it, but my left cheek bone is still quite sore.
I thought it was too ridiculous not to share.
Silver lining: he's been doing all kinds of housework he never does this week - I think he still feels guilty. I was going to punch him back this morning when he left for work but thought "eh... he has much better right hook... and I want him to keep washing the dishes a bit longer".

I think this month's Allure is the best LC has ever looked.

I'd like to do some holiday decorating this week
and although I'm sure I won't be painting (just being honest),
these would look so cute in front of the front door!

happy weekend!

p.s. just read that justin timberlake + jessica biel got married! can't wait for leaked photos!

xoxo
