Coffee Talk.

Friday would have been Princess Diana's 50th Birthday, and Newsweek Magazine created a digital photo of what she would look like now with her daughter-in-law Kate. 


I saw a close up on Diana, and personally I think they made her look far too old & aged her way too much...  but I do love how they have Kate looking at her, and how stylish Diana looks.


They suggest that Princess Di would have made peace with Prince Charles and Camilla.... ehh, I'm not so sure about that. Either way - I thought it was a great way to remember Diana & think about what could have been if she were still here! 

In other royal news, Prince Harry may have already moved on (again) from Chelsea... 
she's a swimwear + lingerie model.  yep. sounds about right for Harry.
 
Emily & Brad have split.  Shocker.  But I'm confused - I feel like I read about them splitting 5 other times already?
although not gonna lie... I'm excited to see the TV interview in 2 weeks!

Gwynnie has done it again - that girl is always turning heads.  This time it's topless in Vanity Fair

I have another big weekend ahead of me with my sister + brother-in-law arriving in Chicago tomorrow morning, and I can barely get out of bed!

This cold just won't leave.  It is gorgeous & hot outside in Chicago... all I want to do is being laying out.  Instead, all I'm doing is drinking tea and shivering.


  Fingers crossed for a 24 hour recovery... because whether I'm ready or not, a beer is being cracked tomorrow afternoon!

Wishlist Wednesday

While my friend Emily and I were in Columbus for the wedding over the weekend, we explored the Short North area of Columbus that was near our hotel.  

There was a "hippie festival" that weekend called Comfest that we attended before the rehearsal dinner for some beers & amazing people watching...and the majority of the people around us looked like this:

people hula-hooping everywhere... 
and they were quite good I must admit... 

So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the boutiques were amazing when we went shopping the next day!! My favorite that we found was called Rowe.  They had a great mix of high & low, known and unknown designers.  I fell in love with this dress in particular

perfection. literally. 
by designer Lauren Moffatt.  I seriously am drooling...  I almost couldn't leave the store because I couldn't stop staring at it and wondering WHY I couldn't afford to spend $350 at the moment? 

I found her website, and a few of the things are cute, but not nearly as cute as that gem above. 
perfect for the 4th of July! 



I did find some cuter, more in my price range, clothing there by Rails Clothing.
They had so many cute tops, and I finally purchased a Chambray/Denim top that I have been wanting for so long! 




really cute stuff and all of it is priced really well too! 
tops are around $80 and dresses around $115.

sooo if any of you want to buy me that Lauren Moffatt dress... 
anyone??

Wedding Recap

I'm back from the Wedding Weekend in Columbus, and although I'm exhausted and happy to be home, I wish we could do it all over again next weekend!!

Wedding Weekend!!!


I'm off to Columbus, OH to celebrate the wedding of one of my loves that I met at my first job in Chicago. 

We actually went to college together, but didn't meet until a few years ago over Margaritas and bitch-fests about our job that thank goodness we had together, because I met 3 of my favorites that I refer to as my Cinco Girls.

She moved in April from Chicago to Denver with her Fiance so we all are so excited to see her again and celebrate with her!!

Wishlist Thursday: Coffee Table Books Edition

Due to blogger difficulties yesterday... today is Wishlist Wednesday Thursday

I thought I would do something a little different... I've been planning for August when I will finally start living like an adult and have a more grown up pad.  Whenever I'm in Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, or browsing blogs... I love seeing all of the pretty + interesting coffee table books there are out there! 
Here are a few I have had my eye on.... 

 most likely the only Chanel I'll ever own :) 

I've wanted this for so long.

I bought this two years ago and I still go through it all the time...
it is just the sweetest thing ever.

My mom's book is different, but I swear the title is something similar...a traditional house with blue & white decor... but I still remember how excited she got years ago when my dad got her this for Christmas.  It had gorgeous southern, classic homes photographed in it. My mom has always been great with decorating and she loves to say that a good house is never done.

Gwynnie would never lie to me.

*things are a little out of order today.  blogger is not cooperating with my wishlist wednesday post, but I'll try to get that posted tomorrow :) *

I had heard about Tracy Anderson's workouts on TV shows & read about them here in the blog world for awhile, but was skeptical I was capable of doing the strenuous workouts on a consistent basis.  A few weeks ago, Gilt Group did a sale for her Perfect Design Series DVD's and I finally bit the bullet.  

I figured, if they gave me any kind of muscle or made me even slightly as pretty as Gwyneth Paltrow, what did I have to lose? 

I have been doing the DVD's for just over two weeks, and I am SO happy that I bought them.  The first couple of days were hard and I'm sure I looked like an absolute fool doing the moves in my living room but I felt great.  Normally I get extremely sore from doing anything but the elliptical.  I'm talking so sore that I have to use my hands to help me sit down... embarrassingly sore.  But with these, I was sore ALL over but in a way that actually felt good.  And by week two, I wasn't getting sore at all. 

Now, I don't think I will ever look anything like her or Gwyn... but I am happy that I am gaining some muscle and shrinking my problem areas. My stomach is definitely flatter and my bubble butt is slowly shrinking. I also like that I can switch around the DVD's for some variety.  Plus, it's great not having to go to the gym - it makes it much easier to keep up with the workouts.

I would highly recommend ordering these, it is unlike any other workout or DVD I have ever done.  Maybe once I get bored with these I'll try her newer Metamorphosis series as well?! 

One thing I wouldn't recommend as much: The Dance Cardio DVD.  I was a cheerleader back in the day so I was hoping for longer, more fun cardio-dances....  However, the dances are silly, I feel like an idiot leaping all around the living room, and I would rather use the treadmill or elliptical for the cardio.  But to each their own.

She's baaaack.

We haven't heard from Heidi Montag (or her obnoxious other half Spencer Pratt, Praise Jesus) in quite some time.

Well.... she's back.  This weekend she hosted a pool party at Wet Republic in Vegas.  

Apparently she worked out for 14 hours a day leading up to her hosting gig.  WTF??? 


By her side was Hef's recent ex-fiance, who attended the party on her would be wedding day.  Classy. 
 

Don't worry too much about Mr. Hefner.  He, OF COURSE, already has another twelve year old blonde by his side.  Yep.  The same week as a marriage is called off, Miss January is already in the mansion and knocking boots. Lovely. No wonder people hate Americans.

In other reality TV news, two fellow Bachelor & Bachelorette contestants got engaged! 

Chris was the so-so-sweet runner up from Cape Cod on Ali's season who had lost his mom a few years earlier, and Peyton always seemed like a normal, nice girl on her season and on Bachelor Pad. 

A more shocking proposal: after only three months of dating, Nikki Reid and American Idol's Paul McDonald are engaged.

3 months??? Seriously people???
"They are just so happy and in love."
No crap... it's been 3 months...what is there not to like at that point?

Finally, the most shocking disgusting wedding news of the week:
51 year old Green Mile star Doug Hutchinson (I had no idea who he was to be honest) married 16 year old "aspiring" country singer Courtney Alexis Stadden over the weekend in, where else, Vegas.
this ridiculous picture says it all.

They say "love is ageless".  No. No it's not.
Seriously, what is wrong with people? And where the hell are her parents?
And since when do 16 year olds look like that??? At least she looks legal.
